Yeah exactly, there are also undoubtedly a ton of small technical items that are imported from Germany that you see especially in Europe, but to a lesser extent in places like the USA, where the same piece, if it needs to be imported, is likely also available from Japan or China and, in this case, no more or less expensive (probably less, if anything). When you’re already IN Europe, especially with some of the EU agreements, it’s undoubtedly cheaper than getting the analog for that part from Japan/China for example.
The other thing about Europe is that no ONE country is the “Breadbasket” for the region agriculturally. Each country imports and exports consumable goods, so there isn’t a massive influx of produce (for example) from one country to such a scale that it would outdo the other goods.
