Overpriced, pretentious hipster products. They use large format printers to print out the maps, then just glue them to the globe. Then they “hand color” a few token things, like coasts (why? why not just print those too? because now its “hand made”), and throw in a couple sea monsters or polar bears, and boom, a $20k globe.
This guy only started making these in 2008 after he was bored one day. It’s not like he’s some purveyor of a forgotten skill. He literally prints a map and glues it to a sphere.
