Basically, Europe is like a pair of boobs seen from the top (or bottom if you feel like not being on top) of we ignore a bit of the east.
You’ve got quite flat land at the Mediterranean. Then you’ve got the Alps which shoots up in northern Italy. In Germany, it goes slowly a bit lower again. That’s why the Netherlands are called the Low Lands and one of the northern states of Germany is called Lower Saxony. Denmark’s highest mountain is literally 150 metres high. England is quite flat as well. And then you’ve got Scotland and Sweden/Norway, where it all becomes more mountainous again.
